Exceptional Learners/ Observation and Assessment I

Course details

This course examines the nature of exceptional learners, with an emphasis on proactive intervention strategies that have proven successful over the years. Indigenous educational assistants will learn the diagnoses and presenting behaviours in each case and practice the strategies to be used in the classroom when working with these students. Some of these students will require support for medical conditions and psychiatric supports. Indigenous educational assistants will be guided through the process involved when dealing with each condition as well as the ethical conduct and confidential treatment required in each case.
