Increasingly, individuals are creating their own jobs through entrepreneurship. This is an introductory course focusing on the practical aspects of entrepreneurship and small business ventures and better management of existing small businesses. Students will identify market niches for small businesses or non-profit organizations in the public and/or private sectors that best suit their personal values and interests. The importance of the cultural and social contexts of entrepreneurship and small business development is highlighted. Students will develop a financial statement and business plan for a new or existing business, whether Aboriginal or mainstream.
