Yellowhead Tribal College operates as an accredited high school that provides courses based on the Alberta Education curriculum, ensuring a high standard of education to support your academic goals.
Academic Upgrading offers Yellowhead Tribal College-developed and Alberta Education-accredited courses that can be applied towards a high school diploma or entry into UCEPP and Trades and Technology Preparation Programs.
You can choose to upgrade only the courses required for post-secondary admission, or you can work towards earning a high school diploma.

PROGRAM AUDIENCE
The Academic Upgrading program at Yellowhead Tribal College is designed for a wide range of learners, including:
Mature students: Individuals who have been out of school for a period of time and wish to upgrade their academic qualifications to pursue further education or improve career opportunities.
Students who did not complete high school: Those who did not finish high school but are looking to earn their Alberta high school diploma or meet the academic requirements for post-secondary education.
HOW TO APPLY
All applicants must submit the following:

$75 non-refundable application processing fee. Please note this is a mandatory and required payment.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have completed Grade 9, 10, or 11 and provide their most recent transcripts for verification.
Applicants should be able to read at a Grade 9/10 level.
Applicants may submit documentation confirming the completion of Grade 9/10, or they may undergo an assessment process, which includes a skills appraisal test to determine readiness.
