PROGRAM DETAILS

The program offers Yellowhead Tribal College-developed and Alberta Education-accredited courses that can be applied directly toward earning your high school diploma. These courses also meet the entrance requirements for university and college programs, boosting your grades for college or university admission, or fulfilling prerequisites for a new program or graduate studies.

This is a two-semester program. Each course is delivered over 4 months. The first semester starts in September and ends in December with final exams. The second semester begins in early January and ends in April with final exams.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Complete the online application form.

2. Pay the $75.00 non-refundable application fee.

3. Provide official high school transcripts and official post-secondary transcripts (if applicable).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The admission requirements for the University and College Preparation Program include:

  • Completion of the application form.

  • High School Transcripts.

  • Grade Level: The program is designed for students who are preparing for post-secondary education, so applicants should be in their senior high school years (completed Grade 11 or higher).

This program is intended for students who are looking to prepare for university or college, including those who need to complete high school courses or meet specific admission requirements. It caters to a diverse range of learners, including those aiming to improve academic skills or meet educational prerequisites for further studies.

Unique features: YTC-developed and Alberta Education-accredited courses, supportive, family-friendly environment, culturally relevant personalized supports, and preparation for post-secondary success.

High school diploma exams are offered on-site for interested students in January and June.
