STUDENT SERVICES
Student Services provides a wide range of supports to help you succeed academically, personally, and culturally. The Student Services Coordinator also acts as an advocate for students within the college.
Student Support Services include:
Emergency & Practical Supports
Emergency assistance such as bus tickets
Student food bank referrals
Crisis support and immediate help
Connections to community resources (housing supports, mental health services, childcare info)
Academic & Learning Supports
Tutoring and advising connections
Access to the on-site Learning Strategist, who provides:
Tutoring in various subjects
Academic advising & program planning
Study skills (note-taking, test prep, time management)
Writing and assignment support
Help with organization, focus, and meeting deadlines
Wellness, Cultural, & Personal Supports
Counselling support referrals
Connections with Elders for guidance and cultural support
Workshops in self-wellness, nutrition, financial skills, and cultural learning
Wellness and cultural workshops (crafting activities)
A safe space to talk when students are stressed or overwhelmed
Administrative & Student Life Supports
Help with forms (applications, sponsor paperwork, funding forms)
Advocacy—support communicating with instructors or departments
Graduation support (info, deadlines, regalia guidance)
Academic support referrals (tutoring, writing centre, workshops)
Orientation support for new students
Help with scholarships, bursaries, and funding navigation

MENTAL HEALTH
As a student of Yellowhead Tribal College, your mental health and wellness are of utmost importance to us. We have a certified clinician on site that is available to students by appointment
ACADEMIC ADVISING
Your Program Coordinator can assist you with program planning, course selection and career counselling.
ACCESSIBILTY SERVICES
Students who have a diagnosed disability which may affect their academic performance are encouraged to speak to the Program Coordinator well in advance of the start of the term so that the appropriate accommodations can be put into place. Information and assistance is available to students who may have, or suspect they may have a disability that impacts their academic performance at Yellowhead Tribal College. Additional learning support, exam and assignment accommodations, tutoring and adaptive technologies will be made available to students with learning disabilities.
