In this course, we explore the main features of community development (CD) in three main themes. The first theme focuses on the historical evolution and conceptual framework of CD. In the second theme, we explore the implementation of the concept of CD in the Canadian Aboriginal communities and countries of the South for comparison. The third theme is concerned, specifically, with the implementation of the concept of community organizing in the Canadian Aboriginal communities for CD process. This theme includes topics such as internal governance of Indian bands, the roles of band governments, and CD workers in community organizing for CD programming.
