Global Indigenous Worldviews

Course details

This course invites Indigenous Peoples and Knowledge Keepers to communicate with social work students. Through these stories/presentations, students will be exposed to the Indigenous worldview (local and global wisdom). Students are expected to participate fully and purposefully to assist the development of their understanding. As Indigenous Peoples, stories identify our relationship with the natural world and with Creator, which gives meaning about how the world was formed. Students will have the opportunity to explore the importance of maintaining Indigenous knowledge as it continues to assist in guiding us and re-establishing ways and reasons for our spirit, and our place in the world.
