Mathematics for Education Students

Course details

This course presents underlying mathematical ideas, principles, and processes and introduces the student to simple proofs and the use of inductive and deductive reasoning techniques. Basic basic fundamental mathematical principles and concepts are analysed with application to effective problem-solving techniques. A review of elementary number theory, numeration systems, integers, rational numbers, and basic probability theory will be undertaken. The prerequisite for Math 160 is Pure Math 30 or consent of the department.
