Introduction to Community Planning

Course details

This course introduces students to the origins, purpose, and practice of community planning in Canada with a special emphasis on planning in First Nation communities. This course explains the many reasons why communities undertake planning and how the community plan is used to provide decision-makers with the information they need to guide the physical, social, environmental, and economic development of the community. It focuses on developing a broad understanding of practical planning methods in preparing and implementing a comprehensive community plan.
